Art, Music, and the Boda Bag!
We all enjoyed a entertaining weekend!
It started Saturday at Cafe Vio in Paso Robles. Aymiee had an art showing for her jazz collection at the cafe. The owner of the cafe really liked her work and will be presenting it for a few weeks.
A husband and wife couple, Peter and Deborah Hewitt, from our DAG jam session and I were the live entertainment. They wrote a lot of original material. I did my best to just sit in and play bass and rythmn guitar. One of the songs played was "Black Velvet". I really liked how it came out. Deborah has a really clean and crisp singing voice with a nice swing to it. I really enjoyed playing with them. We will be meeting again to arrange a set for future gigs. I'm really excited about that.
For dinner a big group of us all met at the 10th street cafe in San Miguel (the town homepage has a box about it on the lower right). It's a really cool Basque style restaurant. We all enjoyed a seven course meal family style and made lots of new friends. I brought the guitar and was able to get Vince to sing with me. He's my Portuguese "brother" from Paramount Farms (he and I are the only Portuguese employees at the plant). He's got an awesome voice and can sing Marvin Gaye VERY well. We played "Sexual Healing" and "Let's get it on" for the restaurant and had the whole place dancing and singing! It was a blast!!!
Below are pictures of the evidence ...

Richard, thanks again for coming out to play music and supporting my art. I truly appreciated it!!Miles is saved for ya! You guys sounded great. As always, 10th Street Grill was a load of fun!
XLNT, looked like a good time; and A's work was impressive as always.
Looks like fun times for sure. I bet the tunes and art went very well together.
I came over to see Aymiee's bad ass art b/c she's too shy to post it, so thanks! She's so talented.
And by the way, the shaving...same thing as Sharron said with the lotion. Don't all single guys travel with hand lotion and/or soap that lathers easily? :)
